Stanthorpe Shire Council Home Maintenance Service
This is a Home and Community Care (HACC) Commonwealth and State funded program for frail elderly people, younger people with a disability and their carers, who are living at home.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE? To be eligible you need to live at home or with a carer or family and be elderly and frail or be younger with a disability.
Your frailty or disability needs to be moderate to sever, permanent and affect your activities of daily living, to the extent that you need assistance or supervision to carry them out.
HOW DO I APPLY? To apply, you need to be assessed by a health professional who will assess your needs and determine your eligibility.
Your health professional may also assess your level of risk based on your needs and determine whether your risk is high, medium or low. Those with the highest risk will be prioritised.
Community Health Nurses, GP's or an Occupational Therapist or Blue Care can do an assessment for you.
Even if you are not eligible for the service we can still provide you with information or put you in touch with tradesman or other services that may be able to help you.
